IELTS announced a design update to Test Report Forms from 15 July 2026. This is an administrative and regulatory presentation change, not a new scoring system or a change to the meaning of your band score.
What changed on the TRF
Updated Test Report Forms include the Ofqual logo and the Ofqual qualification title. Ofqual regulates qualifications, exams and assessments in England, and IELTS stated that the updated design is intended to meet its requirements.
What did not change
The test status, the score you achieved and the interpretation of that score did not change because of the new design. Candidates should not assume that a newer-looking form represents a different version of IELTS.
Are older Test Report Forms still valid?
IELTS states that TRFs issued before and after the update remain valid for university and visa applications. If you hold an older form, the presence or absence of the new logo does not by itself change the validity of your result.
Can some candidates request an updated form?
IELTS published a process for candidates who received a TRF between June 2024 and 14 July 2026 and want an updated version. Eligibility and procedures should be checked on the official IELTS page because administrative details can change.
